# Drafts for AI assistants

> Collect and review changes to voice and chat assistants, then apply them together.

## Overview

With **draft mode**, supported changes in a voice or chat assistant's wizard are first collected as a **draft** and only applied once you click **Save**. This lets you make several adjustments at your own pace, review them, and activate them together - or discard them.

If draft mode is **disabled**, changes are applied **immediately** as usual (each change is saved individually).

  Draft mode is an **account-wide** setting - it applies to voice and chat assistants and all members of your account, not per assistant.

  A draft is preserved when you reload the page or reopen the wizard later. It only disappears once you **save** or **discard** it.

## Enabling or disabling

    Open the overview of your **AI Assistants** in the sidebar.

## How it works

With draft mode enabled:

* Supported changes in the wizard initially land in the **draft** - the active agent remains unchanged.
* A bar with **Save** and **Discard** indicates that there are unsaved changes.
* **Save** applies all changes in the draft to the active agent at once.
* **Discard** deletes the draft and restores the last saved state.
* The draft is per user: other members of your account do not automatically work in your open draft.

  A draft is **not active** for real calls or chats until it has been saved. Only after **Save** does the change take effect on new conversations.

## Which changes are collected?

Draft mode covers important settings in the wizard. Which ones are visible depends on the assistant type:

* **AI instruction / prompt** - the main prompt you use to describe the agent's behavior, tone, and tasks.
* **Initial greeting** - the first message the agent uses to start a conversation.
* **Knowledge base selection** - the data sources available to the agent for answers.
* **Voice assistants only:** voice and audio settings as well as call settings.
* **Chat assistants only:** response style and chat history retention.

  Not every feature in the product is part of draft mode. Some areas, for example tools or post-processing for voice assistants, have their own save flows. Draft mode primarily protects the settings changed directly in the wizard that influence the assistant's behavior.

## Example

You want to rework an agent's greeting and prompt - as a batch, instead of going live immediately after every adjustment:

    Adjust, for example, the **prompt** and the **greeting**. The changes accumulate in the draft, and the **Save / Discard** bar appears.

    Review your adjustments. With **Save**, they become active together - with **Discard**, you return to the previous state.

  Especially handy for larger changes: you review everything together before it takes effect for real calls or chats.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does a draft affect real conversations?

No. Until you save the draft, the active assistant remains unchanged. Calls and chats continue to use the last saved state.

### What happens if I reload the page?

The draft is preserved. When you reopen the wizard, you still see the unsaved changes and can save or discard them.

### Can other team members see my draft?

No, the draft belongs to your user. As soon as you save it, the changes take effect on the active agent and then apply to everyone.

### Can I discard only individual changes?

Currently, the draft is discarded as a whole. If you choose **Discard**, all unsaved changes in that draft are reset.
