# Authentication

> Create an API token and choose the scopes your assistant may use.

The MCP server authenticates with an API token from your dashboard; there is
no browser login.

Open **Keys** in the dashboard and select **Generate access token**. Enter a
description, select the scopes you need and choose an expiry. Copy the token
immediately: it is shown only once. Store it securely and do not paste it into
chat messages or a shared repository.

| Create an agent, change settings or prompts | `voice_agents:read` **and** `voice_agents:write` |
| Read tools and tool types | `tools:read` |
| Create, update, enable or disable tools | `tools:write` |
| Execute a tool for testing | `tools:execute` |
| List conversations and read transcripts | `conversations:read` |

The client only sees tools for which the token has **all** required scopes.
A token applies to your own account. Revoke it on the Keys page when you no
longer need it.
